Cyber Find Friday that has now been renamed Cyber Find Weekly..

Happy Weekend my glittery cyber buddies.

tis that time again, time to share some wonderful cyber finds with you all. i didn't post yesterday as i had a dentist appointment [ pause for appropriate sympathetic comments ] and then we went out to diner with wonderful friends to celebrate a special birthday.
so thats where i'm going to start today....

We were fortunate enough to have been invited to dine at Moretons Brasserie last night. what an experience in epicurean delight.
Moretons is located for those Melbournites at -

The gorgeous dining room offers an intimate, cosy experience. i don't know about you but i love to be able to chat with those i'm dining with and the size of the main dining room makes this possible. there is another, larger dining room upstairs.
crisp white linen tablecloths, silver cutlery, delicate mood lighting and menus written on mirrors covering the walls, all help to create a delightful ambiance that still allows your focus to be the food.
ahhhh the food, the food.
for starters i had -
Salade de Chèvre Chaud
Warm goats cheese salad, croutons and bacon

while Mr Glitter selected
Escargots à la Bourguignonne
Escargot, garlic butter

both of which were drool worthy.

for main i had -
 Cailles Grillée
Grilled quail, sautéed zucchini, pine nuts, sherry soaked raisins and crispy pancetta

Mr Glitter decided on
Wagyu Grillé
Wagyu rump – 450 days grain fed – marble 7+

let me just say i am fairly certain i was pulling my best porn star face. that's how superb our meals were.
and for dessert -
i had from the specials menu a raspberry creme brulee.
yeah, porn star face made another appearence. if i could've i would've licked the pot.

Meet The Moretons Family.
The Rees Walsh family From left; Max Rees, Jenny Walsh, Chris Rees and Geoff Rees

Jenny as a hostess is beyond reproach. she has a delightful nature and possesses that rare combination of warmth and professionalism. she makes you feel special and instantly you are drawn into her charm and you feel like old friends within 10 minutes.

take your tastebuds out to diner at Moretons, they'll thank you.

And now, alittle treat from one of my all time fave blogs -www.larecetadelafelicidad.com/en .

say hello to Steam Cupcakes Apam dot dot.

Magdalenas al vapor (Apam dot dot)
click here to be transported into the magical land of this gorgeous blog.

here is the recipie - both the recipie and the picture are from larecetadelafelicidad.

{Steam cupcakes: Apam Dot Dot}

Preparation time: 15 min
Cooking time: 15 min
Yield: 12 cupcakes

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g sugar
  • 150 ml milk
  • 300 g flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbs powdered strawberry (Recipe here)
  • 12 tsp your favourite jam (I used cherry jam)

Directions

  1. Heat up steamer. In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar on high speed, until doubled in size, light and fluffy
  2. Add milk, and fold in flour and baking powder, until combined
  3. Divide the batter in two, and colour them as you like (As I wanted to avoid using artificial colouring, I added 3 tbs powdered strawberries
  4. Put the white batter and the pink batter in two piping bags. Put cupcake liners in glass/ foil/silicone moulds or small bowls ( make sure these are heatproof and won’t crack) so that the cupcake liners will not wet when cooked
  5. Press some batter onto the cupcake liners (about 1/3 capacity). Put 1 tsp jam filling, and cover with more batter (until 3/4 capacity). Finally, dot with a different color batter.
  6. Make sure water is boiling, and steam over medium low heat for 10-15 minutes
  7. Let them cool on a wire rack
NOTAS:
  • You might use cocoa powder instead of powdered strawberry
  • If you want to store them, the best way is to freeze them
  • If you do not have a steamer, I have read some people prepare them with a frying pan.

- not only is this blog full of magical magical recipies but the photos of those recipies are super pretty.
i haven't tried this one but i have cooked several recipies from this blog and have been very impressed. i thought the idea of steaming cupcakes was an interesting one. i think they would take on a pudding like texture. instantly i thought of my gorgeous Grandma and found myself surounded by the warmth of her kitchen and her hugs. i am so fortunate to have years of wonderfuly happy memories of this incredible woman.

now off you go and enjoy your weekend.
until we next meet in cyberspace
